Dos Mundos, Una Vida

“In 2003, I had to migrate to the United States. The salaries of middle managers were already beginning to drop. I worked as a supervisor in a sweatshop, in Zip Buenas Vista, Villanueva Cortés.

Upon arriving in the U.S., I felt that I was giving a new life to my whole family and not just to my children. Also, to my father, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and close friends.

There were so many dreams to fulfill, so much to offer to my children—clothes, shoes, medicine, food. There were so many basic things that I couldn’t buy with my salary in my country because there were many of us.”
